Meet Your Executive Board
Welcome to the elected 2024-2025 MCEA Executive Board
We are ready to support our membership! Our accomplishments in 2023-2024 include a $12,000 pay increase for every educator with MCOE. We also negotiated for better benefits, and two Memorandum of Understandings (MOU) with MCOE to manage effective case loads and honor experience teaching abroad.

Candice Aguirre- President
Candice Aguirre has proudly served on the MCEA executive board since 2020, when she started as treasurer. In 2021, she was voted Vice President, but quickly became president when the role became vacant.
Candice began teaching after leaving a biology graduate program in southern California. This will be her 10th year as a teacher, and has served students at MCOE for 7 years. She is excited to continue sharing her love of science with her students.
-
Melody Robinson- Vice President
Melody Robinson began her involvement with MCEA as a pivotal member of the bargaining team. Her sharp insights and excellent data collection supported a successful bargaining contract between MCEA and the Marin County Office of Education in 2024.
Melody became involved with special education after working in adaptive adventure sports, during which she guided sea kayak trips for adults and children with disabilities. Motivated by this experience, she obtained her credentials in both orientation and mobility and visual impairments. Prior to teaching, Melody worked in consulting and holds a BA in Political Economy from UC Berkeley. This is her fourth year working at the MCOE.

Stephanie has been a special educator for 24 years and with MCOE for 7 years. She is continually inspired by the professionals she works with. She still finds love, and joy not only in her work as an educator but as a mentor and an active union member.

Naseem Golabi-Torney
Naseem Golabi-Torney was elected treasurer in June 2024. She is a welcome addition who brings an open mind and hands-on approach to the executive board.
Naseem owes her passion for special education to her mother, who worked as a para educator. Naseem was a substitute para while finishing her degree in French. After meeting a student’s orientation and mobility specialist, she decided to pursue a credential in orientation and mobility as well as in visual impairments. This is Naseem’s 7th year teaching in Marin.
